We went for a walk to the recreational park across the street. There is soccer camp on Tuesday nights. As we were crossing the street, Eric noticed news cameras outside the fields. He said “I wonder what the paparazzi is for?” Low and behold, Barack Obama was there! I guess his oldest girl plays and they had a game going. He was there with his wife too. There were some people going up to him and getting pictures but mostly he was left alone so he can watch his kid play. There was the secret service but not anything crazy. It was cool though.
I also feel like they stabbed me in the back. It will be a while before my comfort level goes back to what it was. Thank goodness Eric is the voice of reasoning or else we would be in big trouble. I guess the grass is always greener, right?
So far there are two good things about it being February 29: it’s a Friday and payday. 😛
Hope you have a great leap day! And if it is your birthday, Happy Birthday!!!!
On Friday, February 22, someone that Eric worked with committed suicide. He was 40 years old with two children. Very sad news. Hopefully his family will the find the answers they deserve
This is so sad.
Two senseless crimes have hit close to work.
One of the ladies that was killed during the Lane Bryant shooting worked here.
Now, one of the students that was killed last week at Northern Illinois was the daughter of a guy who works here.
It seems that you are not safe any more. Schools, work, malls, parks, even your own home can be dangerous. You worry about yourself, your spouses, your children, loved ones but there is only so much you can do because life will go on. *sigh*
We just got our tax refunds today. I was shocked because I had just sent the direct deposit authorization on Monday. But the happiness only lasted for about 30 seconds, since the refunds are long gone. 😦 Those mangy bills need to be paid. Oh well!
It is 18 degrees outside but it feels like 9 degrees with the wind chill factor. Why don’t people bundle up? I saw a bunch of people not wearing a hat and/or had their coat unzipped this morning as I was hurrying to work. It is not that hard people! As long as I am nice and warm, I will just chuckle at those people. Hee, hee!
It is the start of 2008.
Too bad it doesn’t wipe out all the bad things. Bills still need to be paid, pains (whether they are mental or physical) continue from the last year to the new year, wars are still raging, and so on. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could just start over?
Well enough of the misery, I hope this year will be a better year than 2007.
Confession: I just mailed out Diego’s thank you cards today. His birthday parties were almost 3 months ago. *blush*
I have lots of valid excuses (pictures were taken late, training for 1/2 marathon, gallbladder problems) but I am so glad I have finished them. Okay, I only have four more to go but I ran out of thank you cards. I will finish them tonight. Yay!
I can’t believe I turn 33 years old today. I have a survived another year. 🙂 I usually make a big deal about my birthday but lately not so much. I don’t feel old by any means but I just don’t think people want to hear about it being my birthday. I am just happy when people remember my day.
( So if you are reading this, it is not too late to call or email me. 😉 )
The best part so far: Eric was able to score tickets to see Wicked tonight. I can’t wait! Woo hoo!!!
