quandary…

I have a quandary. My girl is roughly 5 1/2. I know she is aching to get her nails done. I, on the other hand, am not ready for that. Anytime I see a little girl with their nails painted (either finger or toe), I cringe.

She is only five, FIVE!! She is a girly girl.  Loves to pretend she has a boyfriend or pretend that her dolls have a boyfriend or trying to set up her brother with a classmate (yes, this really happened) or get dressed up when she can (for parties or holidays).

When she gets her face painted, she truly feels like a princess.  Once in a blue moon, I will give her some clear Lip Shimmer.  Once again, she feels like a princess.  When she wears her earrings, she feels like a princess.  All fingers point to princess.

But nail painting, that is where I draw the line right now. (No pun intended.)  I did tell her when she turns six I will let her paint them.  And even then, it will be soft colors like pink and clear and glitter.

But when it happens, I think I will cry.   *sigh*
