Happy News…

I just found out this weekend that one of my SIL’s is having a baby too.  The best part:  She is due November 9.  I am due November 7.  It is so cool that my baby is going to have a cousin her/his age.  AND Diego is also going to be a Big Cousin too.  I would have never thought in a million years for that to happen.  So, so excited!!!

First Doctor’s Visit…

For Mia at 8 days old. This is her first trip since getting home 5 days ago.

The doctor wanted to check her her weight and other various body checks.

Mia is gaining weight wonderfully!!! She was 7lb 4oz when born. The lowest weight at the hospital was 6lb 6oz. When she left the hospital on Friday (Nov. 14), she was 6lb 11oz. 5 days later, she is at 7lb 6oz. Yippee!! And also no shots this visit.

Here she is at the doctor’s office.

First Doctor's Visit

Her next appointment is on Dec. 17.

40 Weeks…

No progress. *sigh* Figures. It seems that I am heading the same way as my previous pregnancy. I was hoping for some progress but just got disappointed. But I gained 2 pounds from last week, bp is fine, heartbeat is nice and strong, 39 cm belly. Doctor really just wants me to wait. My other option is to get a planned c-section which is not what I want to so the wait will continue.

Next appointment is Nov. 12. I will be doing a NST (which is so boring, I have to remember to take a book to read). Then if I still don’t go into labor, I will probably go to the hospital on Monday, Nov. 17 but not sure yet about that.

Another First…

Diego went to the dentist for the first time today!

Eric and I went but only one of us could go into the room with him.  Diego chose his Papa to go with him.  This was a good thing too because Eric sat in the chair and Diego was sitting/leaning on him.  This would have been impossible with me. 😆

Eric went with him and I sat in the reception area.  I was able to see and hear them anyway so it was okay.

The good news:  NO cavities.   Also, it doesn’t look like there will be a space problem for his permanent teeth.

The bad news (sort of):  We have to start to really get him to drink from a cup and not a “sippy cup.”  The good thing is Diego like to drink from a cup but due to laziness and trying to avoid spillage, we haven’t really pushed it.

He had some build up so we went ahead with a teeth cleaning. He did really well. The one thing he did not like was the spit suction thingie. Once he was done, he got three stickers and the dentist goody bag (toothbrush, floss and toothpaste).

When he came out, he showed me his shiny white teeth and told him that I was so proud of him.  And I am.
