New Chapter in the Potty Saga…

Diego did #2 today in his potty.

I noticed that he had been trying to go for a while.  I took him upstairs a couple of times thinking I had to change his diaper but they were all false alarms.  So I decided to stay up there and see if he would sit on his potty.  At first, he did not want to stay so I put the diaper back on.  Then he acted like he wanted to sit on his potty on the condition that I sat on the toilet myself.  😆  But after waiting for about 20 minutes, he got up because he had done his business.  I am so proud of him and gave him lots of praise.

Let’s see when will the next chapter will be written.

Training…

I have been seriously thinking about doing the half marathon.  Manda and I have come to an agreement:  We will train for the half marathon but we won’t sign up for it until September.  We need to see if we can run 10+ miles before we commit to the half marathon.  It just blows my mind on running for so long but I am going to try.

Softball – Week 7

No game tonight. Called due to the weather. Huge thunderstorm rolled in and out. Even though the rain is done, the fields are probably flooded. As you may recall week 4, they played in really bad fields and no one felt comfortable playing that day.

They now have two make up games to play later in the season. Go Beavers!!!

False Alarms…

My aunt had called me yesterday during the day that that smoke alarms were going off. Completely freaked her out. I know she was cooking so I told her to open all the windows so there could be some wind blowing thru the house. We got home and all is well.

Well, this morning Eric opened the door to the balcony and the door alarm when off. I was up stairs getting Diego ready when this happened. Poor kid freaked out and held onto my legs. I had to rush and turn off the alarm so I had break Diego’s death grip on my legs. I just left him laying on the floor. Poor kid! But even when I turned the alarm off, the fire alarms kept going. 😯

Eric is pressing the reset buttons on the alarms and they quieted down for a bit and they started again. So, Eric called ADT to see what can be going on. They told him to vacuum the alarms and change all the batteries. So we did. Six alarms, six batteries. Thankfully, we had them in the house because I bought a four pack 9V batteries about a month or so again plus there was a two pack already here. Phew!

All thru this time, Diego is just clamped on me like nobody’s business. My poor baby was so traumatized during this time he was just shaking like a leaf. 😦

So I took the day off to make sure the alarms did not go off again. I wish it was on better terms this impromptu day off happened but here I am. Got to take care of the family.

Softball – Week 6

After two back to back losses, they finally win. The score: 11-5. Not bad. They seem to play better today. A little bit aggressive but they were having fun. Lots of nail bitting and “what the %^$@?” moments but they came thru. Hope this is the beginning of something.

On the other hand, I wanted to run three miles while they were playing. I took the jogging stroller and was dressed to run but Diego did not want to do anything with it. He just wanted to watch the game and play ball. And that is what we did. 😛

Zoned Parking…

After living in our area for almost 3 years, we now have residential permit parking. The cool thing about it is you will need a permit to park in my ‘hood all day, all week. Hopefully this alleviate the parking crunch we currently have.

That is wonderful for the people living there but not so much for the visitors that use the school. Bye bye to the students, softball players, soccer families, picnic patrons and anyone else that parks there car for hours. Please go park at the local parking garage. Goodness, it only costs $2 for 2 1/2 hours. That is a deal.

We are getting our car and temporary visitor permits soon. We will need to start using them on 7/9/07. I hope this really help and it will be worth the money. We will then reevaluate this next year.

So, if you are planning to visit us after 7/6/07, let us know before you come over so we have the temp permit waiting for you. 🙂

Softball – Week 5

They lost.  8-6.  Not going so well this season.  They are 2-2 right now.  I am not worried thought, they still have 4 more games to go.  They need to liven things up.  Not sure what is going on with them this year.  They seem to have lost a lot of steam.

Hope the coach can pump them up soon.

Ouch…

On Sunday, I slammed the truck door on my left index finger. I mean, my finger got stuck in the door jam. Not good! All I did was yell “OUCH!” and opened the door as fast as I could with my right hand. Slight bleeding, some missing skin but nothing major. I just have a band-aid covering it. It looks something out of a horror movie. 🙂

I can’t wait until it heals, taking a shower with mostly one hand is a little tough. 😛

13.1 miles…

This is how long a half marathon is. And this is what I am contemplating on doing in October. I know of a few ladies who are going to be doing the Indianapolis Marathon and I am debating to do the half. What I am thinking is start training for it and see how I am doing by September. If I think I can do it, I will sign up by September 12. I am just flipping out right now just thinking about it. 😯

I hope Manda does it because she owes me at least 5 miles. 😉
