Saying T00dles…

to the ’00s. (Get it? *sigh* Nevermind.)

So here we are, the last day of the ’00s. So many things have occured in the world but instead of rehashing that, I will rehashed what happened in MY world.

  • Bought a house in ’03
  • Got a cat in ’04
  • Bought a SUV in ’05
  • Had two children in ’05 and ’08
  • Ran two half marathons: first one in ’07 and the second in ’09
  • Drove to Mexico in ’02 and ’05
  • Saw my bestest friends get married
  • Saw the same number of friends have babies
  • Went to Disney in ’00 and ’07
  • Went on our first and only cruise to the Bahamas in ’04
  • Went to Las Vegas, New York City & Los Angeles for the first time
  • Eric’s grampa (his dad’s dad) passed away
  • Eric’s uncle (his dad’s brother) passed away (first sibling to die from both sides of the family)
  • I know there are more events that happened during these last ten years. Who knows what will happen in the teens (is what the next decade is going to be called?) but I am sure it will be documented better.

Happy New Year everyone! Goodbye to the old and hello to the new. Bring it, I’m ready.

    First Hair Cut…

Mia finally got her first hair cut at Kidsnips.  Poor kid really needed one.  So before the holiday festivies started, we took her to get all her hairs snipped.

    Punk Rocker Hair

It started well. Molly put some Dora on the TV. Then the cutting commenced. No crying. Then she started to get a bit ansy but still sitting fine.

    The Calm Before the Storm

Molly was done with the cutting. But the minute she started putting some flower clips to style Mia’s hair, the water works started. *sigh*

    Waterworks Started!

The obligatory first hair cut picture was taken. We were given a cute certificate with a lock of her hair and picture. Even though she was cranky, she still looked really cute and we love the new hair.

    All Done

    14 Days…

and thirteen nights. That is how long Eric was gone. Thankfully his is back.

Let’s see: On Dec. 1, he left for Miami which then he took an 8 hr flight to Buenos Aires. On Dec. 6, he came back to Miami and arrived in Chicago on Dec. 7 in the morning. Later that night, he took a flight to L.A. I only got to see him for two hours that day.
On Dec. 14, he flew back to Chicago and arrived home at 2ish.

Hopefully, no more traveling until our Disney trip in January but that is with the family. I know he will travel for work again but it is nice to have him back home. We really missed him.

    Snow…

Finally, there is some snow on the ground. Diego was happy to see it and even said he wanted to go sledding. Poor kid. I don’t even think there was more than two inches on the ground for that.

Plus, he had to stay home today since he had a fever last night and this morning. Sent his teacher a note and she replied there were 6 kids out. That is quite a number since there is only 21 students in his class.

Hopefully, he will okay tomorrow to go school and wear his new snow boots. I am sure he’ll be looking forward to that.
