So Cool…

I just read the Fleet Feet Sport’s newsletter today. They are giving the run down on the races they are sponsoring this year. Guess who’s picture made it in there??? Diego’s!!! He has a great smile as he is running towards the finish line. Here is the picture:

He is the one at the bottom dressed as a giraffe. Just in case you confuse him as the Elvis fellow. 😉

This is the picture that I keep meaning to order so I better do it soon.

Happy New Year…

It is the start of 2008.

Too bad it doesn’t wipe out all the bad things.  Bills still need to be paid, pains (whether they are mental or physical) continue from the last year to the new year, wars are still raging, and so on.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could just start over?

Well enough of the misery, I hope this year will be a better year than 2007.

Christmas Cards Mailed…

Just got them today.  Thankfully I went home for lunch because they were there waiting for me.  So, I stuffed, sealed, labeled and stamped 53 cards.  Mailed 51 cards, two were hand delivered.  Unhappy that I got them today but happy that they are in the mail and will be picked up at 3:30.  So, I hope the ones in Chicago get delivered tomorrow and the rest get delivered on Christmas Eve.  If not, then they should get them the day after Christmas.

Either way, they are ALL DONE!!!  Woo hoo!!!

Ran Today…

Gosh, I don’t even remember when the last time I ran was.  I think it was Oct. 20, my half marathon.  So I had all my stuff here at work and went down to the gym.  Ran 2 miles in 22 minutes.  With my 5 minute cool down, it was a total of 2.28 miles.  I really need to start running again because those were the two hardest miles I have ran in a long time. 🙂

Snowy Sunday…

It snowed about 5-8 inches overnight. We probably got about 6 inches. It is so pretty. I woke up to this this morning and the snow was just tapering off. It was cloudy but the weatherman said it was going to be sunny later in the day.

Our little balcony table looked like it had an ice cream cake on it:

You see the guys shoveling the snow:

Then I checked out the front. We have no side walks!

Looking towards downtown:

So later in the day, the sun did come out. The weatherman was right, who would’ve thought that! 😛

So we decided to go around the neighborhood with Diego in his sled.

We saw a snowman sunning himself:

We found a tiny hill (well, it is not really a hill, but it had a nice slope to it) and Diego went sledding on it:

Now it Mom’s turn:

Saw this pretty snow covered tree:

And it was time to go back home:

It was a great time. Who knows if we will get another snow fall like this one this season so we had to go out and enjoy it.

Wow…

That was Diego’s reaction to the Christmas tree this morning.  His exact line was “Wow, a Christmas tree!”  Too cute!

We finally got around putting the tree up last night.  We always do but this year was so worth it with the reaction Diego had. *sigh*

Potty Saga Continues…

Another first:  Diego did number 2 in the toilet.  We are constantly telling him that if he feels like he has to go, he needs to tell us before he actually does.  Hasn’t been really working because he will tell us right after it happens.

This time, I caught him before he went.  Granted, he did not tell me but he was okay going to the “big” toilet.  I sat him down and he grunt a bit and told me he did not want to go.  So I just told him lets wait a few more minutes.  So we did.  Diego did his fake grunting a couple more times.  Then the golden moment arrived:  a true red in the face grunting and bingo!  Gave him lots of praise and a high five.

I still have to remember: baby steps.
