Happy Mama’s Day…

I had a wonderful day. See?

Happy Mama's Day!

Diego made me a jewelery box and a bracelet at school. He also made me a card. Love it and it made me tear up. I also got an Edible Arrangement from Mia & Diego. Yummy! I ❤ them plus I get to share with my peeps.

After opening my gifts, we went to eat a Stanley’s. They have a great brunch on Sunday’s. They had made-to-order omelets, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, buscuits and gravy, waffles, fruit toppings, sausage, bacon, mmmm I could just go on but now I am hungry. 😆

I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day. Smooches!

A Star Is Born…

Diego had his first theater experience and he enjoyed it. The Pre-K classrooms at his school had a musical: Goldilocks and the Three Bears. He was the Papa Bear and his line was “Who has been sitting and wiggling in my great big chair?” He was just so adorable! He was very determined to say his line just right and he did.

There were three classrooms participating and just the kids who are going to kindergarden had the speaking parts. And to be fair, there were three kids for each line in the play.

I think I see a future movie star. 🙂

Pre-K Pictures Part 2…

Well it turns out that they take spring school pictures in the spring. Heh, go figure? 🙂 They don’t use these one in the yearbook or class picture so they are more for fun. He looks so cute. He even kept his glasses on. (I did tell him he can take them off if he wanted to but he didn’t.)

So I will probably order wallets or something. The pictures are too cute to pass. They sure know how to sucker parents. 😛

Trip To The Moon…

I know I hardly ever write about Diego and his school. Diego is progressing very nicely. He knows most of his site words (I, said, when, he, she, etc) and his writing is getting better every day. I just have to thank his teacher and her assistants. They are wonderful.

Any who, back to the title of this post. Eric received the following from Diego’s teacher who he was nice to forward to me:

Everything is really great in Room 105. I hear that you are going on the field trip with us. Diego is very excited. Today, L…, J…, and Diego built this wonderful space ship and spent most of the morning on Moon. So, he might be a bit tired this evening. (Smile) They were so detailed about this project in the block center. I took pictures, so I will share.

It just made me go awwwww. I can’t wait for his teacher to share pictures. 🙂

Good-bye March…

To end on a good note, Mia is ear infection free. That was after three rounds of antibiotics. So happy about that.

On to the bad news, Diego has astigmatism. So he will need to wear glasses for a few months before going back to the eye doctor for a follow up. I’m okay with that. Not sure about Eric. He blames me for passing on my genes. =P So we are going tomorrow or Friday to get him some glasses.

Also, I am feeling so much better. I will probably sign up for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon. Need to start running again. Eeeecckkk!

Hopefully, April will be a better month for us.

Accepted…

We got THE letter today. And Diego got accepted to the gifted program at his school. We are so flipping excited!!! We weren’t sure how well he did on his exam back in November but he did well enough that he got in. What a happy day!!!

I feel like I need to go out and buy him something to celebrate. 😛

Stress…

Okay, I haven’t really been stressing about kindergarden but now I am. Diego was tested for the gifted/classical program back in November. Eric applied to 20 different schools back in October. Just this week the letters were sent out to see if Diego has been accepted in any of those schools. We have only gotten two letters as of yesterday and they were both telling us that Diego was waitlisted.

Now, we found out that the rest of the letters were mailed out yesterday. I need to go home and check the mail. I don’t know if I can wait until after work. 😯 Doesn’t he know that the weight of his sister’s education is on his shoulders??? Poor kid.

Sigh…

Not good. Took Mia to the doctor yesterday and she still has her ear infections. The good thing is that the left ear looks like it is healing but the bad news is the right ear is worse. So another round of antibotics with some finger’s crossed tossed in and hope that when we go on March 31, Mia’s ears will be clear.

Also not good, Diego failed his vision exam at school. So we got a referral to a pediatic eye doctor. And the appointment also happens to be on March 31.

Less than three months and Diego will be out of school. Just counting the days. 😉

It’s Only March…

So, it was pink eye. The doctor checked Diego’s lungs and ears which were fine. Just the pink eye. He thinks what ever Mia has, Diego has but instead of ear infections, he gets pink eye. He got eye drops which he has been taking them just fine. I am so glad my kids do not fight meds. If they did, we would in major trouble.

So, back to my title: It’s only March and we’ve taken Diego to the doctor twice (strep throat and pink eye). Mia has gone twice and will be going a third time next week for her ear follow up and her shots (I hope). Eric has gone to the doctor once and that was just for a physical. FIVE doctor visits and it is only the first week of March. I haven’t gone but I have been thinking about since this cold is just going and going forever.

Will spring relieve us from our illnesses? I sure hope so. *keeping my fingers crossed*
