Diego’s 18 month check up…

Here are his stats:

Weight: 26 lb 13 oz (60-70%)
Height: 33 3/4 in (85%)
Head: 19 3/4 in (95%)

Diego is getting taller and getting skinner. =D

He got one shot today. His first one given to him on the arm. Eric held/hugged him to keep him still. I was trying to get Diego’s attention so he wouldn’t look at the nurse giving him the shot. But he kept looking at his arm. Nurse gave him the shot and not a flinch from the boy. Nothing! I was so proud.

Chinese Wedding…

We went to a traditional Chinese wedding on Saturday. How come no one warned us to pace ourselves during dinner? It was family style dinner. They kept bringing food and more food and then more food. 😯 First there was the seafood appetizer, then there was a seafood salad, then the lobster dish, a fish dish, chicken, more seafood dishes, noodles and then some rice. Then there was a couple of desserts and cakes. OMG! We were stuffed to the gills.

The bride is Chinese and the groom is Vietnamese. So there was three different people translating everything in Chinese, Vietnamese and English. The bride had four different outfits. Here white wedding dress, a traditional Chinese wedding dress and a traditional Vietnamese wedding dress. Plus, she changed into something more comfortable to dance the night away. It was fun! The pictures will be posted soon on their website. Can’t wait to see them!

…my baby was born! I can’t believe he is 18 months old, one and half year old, 549 day old, 78 weeks old, 47,433,600 seconds and counting, well, you get the point.

Diego is getting so big. I don’t have his measurements but he reaches my waist already. And he is heavy! He is changing so much. He is no longer my baby. =( He is a full blown toddler. *sigh*

He said “zapatoes” this morning for the first time. He had already been saying “shoes” for a while so it was nice to hear him say a spanish word to the list. As of today, he is saying the following: mama, papa, cheese, shoe, blue, apple, Nala, bye, banana, truck, and others I can’t remember right now. He is very “vocal,” which means he “talks” you in Chinese most of the time. 😀

He will be going to the ped next week so I will have better stats by then.

Here is my baby!

Disney Here We Come…

Well it seems that we are going to Disney World in November 2007. I am so happy!! It will be the week right after Thanksgiving. We are driving so we will save the airfare. So it is time to start checking for packages. We want to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Wish us luck!!!

Haircut #3…

Diego got his hair cut today.   It is haircut number 3.  It was done at KidSnips by Sheri. She asked us if this was Diego’s first haircut. “No,” we said, “it is his 3rd.” Poor kid really needed it cut. She was great. Diego is a pro at this. No cry, no screaming, no nothing. Watched a Seasame Street DVD that was on. The cool thing was, the little boy who was before him, Kade, is in Little Gym with Diego. Eric recognized him and we said hello/bye as they were leaving. Small world!

Jury Duty…

I did my civil duty today by going to jury duty.  I had gotten a letter a few weeks ago telling me I was a STANDBY JUROR and to call the day before to see if I was required to attend.  So last night, I remembered to call.  Sure enough, I was summoned.

The only problem I had with this was the fact that I had to go to Markham, IL which is a little out of my way. I had to take I90/94, then I94, and then I57. It was a 45 mile roundtrip commute. Oh, well! The good thing was there was almost no traffic on the way there or back.

I arrived at 8:55 am. I signed in and went to the quiet room. President Ford’s funeral was on TV. I read today’s Chicago Tribune paper. First the Tempo section, Metro section second, then the front page. Then I put my new iPod Shuffle and read my People magazine. After doing the Puzzler, I did some Sudoku. By then, it was almost 11:30 am. Then they called us to get our juror paycheck. Sat down and continued with my puzzle. By noon, they annouced that all court cases were done for the day and we can leave for the day. clap

So, for three hours of my time, I got paid a whopping $17.20. I have done my quote for the year and do not have to do this for at least a year. Back to work tomorrow!
