Long Weekend…

We were off from Friday until Tuesday (well, Eric had Thursday off too but I’m not counting that. 😆 ).

The rundown on the weekend:

Thursday: After work, I went to a condo-warming party down the street. Stayed until 8 pm then went home. Eric came home at 1 am.

Friday: I got Eric up to go to Brookfield zoo. I wanted to be there at 9:30 am when they opened but alas, he was hung over and we made it a little past 10 am so it wasn’t too bad. We didn’t see much of the zoo but it was beautiful day to go. Diego wanted to see the monkeys so that is the first thing we did. We did the Sting-ray exhibit but Diego got bored plus he did not want to get wet but I was able to touch one. Kinda hard to bend over with the belly in the way. 🙂 We took a break to eat our snacks. Diego saw the playground so we hung out there for a while. We then went to see the Dolphin show. We decided we were done. But on the way out, Diego saw the Merry Go Round and wanted to get on. So he did with Eric. THEN we finally left the zoo.

My SIL’s shower was on Saturday so we needed to get a gift. We went to BRU for a shower gift. Then went to the mall and bought Diego new bedding at Pottery Barn kids.

Saturday: After months and months of wanting to get my hair cut, I finally got my hair cut. Then we went to the baby shower.

Sunday: We went out for breakfast at a new place, Meli Cafe. It was yummy! I had the Honey Cakes, Diego had the waffles and Eric had the Rocky Mountain skillet. Next time, Eric wants to try the crepes and I will have to try the french toast. Too bad they don’t have a children’s menu considering that a lot of kids were there.

Later that afternoon, we went to a block party right across the park. That was fun. Diego played with his friends and we ate and ate. 😛

Monday: We went to Milwaukee for the afternoon. Hung out with Eddie and Maggie. We also met Amy, Ana’s little girl. She was born 10-12 weeks premature. But she is doing really well and she now weighs 4 pounds considering she weighed 2 pounds at birth. All she needs to do before going home is learning how to eat on her own. I am sure she will be able to do it soon.

Tuesday: We wanted to go apple picking today but the apples we want are not ready. So we postponed the trip a couple of weeks. Instead, we finally went to see Wall-E. Diego really liked it and so did we. It is such a brilliant movie, I can’t wait for it on DVD. Afterwards, we went to eat some dinner, then hit the playground and then home.

So now, I am back at work. 😛

Vacation Itch…

We are trying to get a vacation in before the baby gets here. I spoke to the nurse as to when is the latest I can travel and she said the doctor usually recommends stopping at 34 weeks. That is cool because that gives me 8 more weeks. I think we may go right after Labor Day because all the kids would be in school and it will probably be cheaper.

Eric wants to do something with a beach-y so I suggested a Disney Cruise. I don’t think it will happen but I had to try. I have gotten ideas from San Diego to San Padre Island. I think he is going to pick some where in Mexico just because it will be cheaper. He is going to plan it so I’ll let him decide. I know he won’t disappoint me.

Oh and it would be Diego’s first airplane ride and beach anything. I hope we can do this. It would be so much fun!

So Sad…

I know I shouldn’t complain but I’m on vacation but not THE vacation we were planning for. I’ve been on vacation since May 1 and won’t be back until May 19. *sigh* We would be in Mexico right now: Enjoying the weather, visiting family and going sightseeing. Oh well, we are now planning for next April/May.

So now, I am just hanging out with Diego. Today was horrible: rainy, windy and cool. Diego had an early nap. Once he woke up, it was sunny and he went out for a walk with my aunt. At least he went out and enjoyed the day.

Zoo Day…

Eric suggested going to the zoo this morning. It was supposed to be a great morning/afternoon weather wise. It supposed to get cooler and possible rainy this afternoon.

So after 9:45, we set off to Brookfield Zoo. It was truly a great day. It was sunny and warm. We saw the giraffes, penguins, birds, frogs, crocodile, baboons and whatever other animals we saw from the tram. Before we left, my aunt bought us some cold treats.

Diego was beat. We went to McD to get some chow. Diego ate two nuggets and once I hit the highway, he was knocked out. I was just so tired by the end of the day but it was worth the trip.

No Mexico Trip…

I am so sad. I was so looking forward to this trip but it’s not going to happen. Too much stuff going on: Eric is really busy at work and has a feeling it won’t be able to be done in time, we are trying to refinance the house and it doesn’t looking like it is going to happen in time and just the plain excitement of the trip is not there. *sniff*

Vacation Update…

So far so good. My vacation has been approved. Maggie’s vacation has been approved. Eric’s vacation has been approved BUT he will be working longer hours. Which is fine as long as he can be home a couple times a week so Diego can hang out with his papa.

I am just so excited that the vacation days are locked down. We just need to pay our bills or get them as low as we can so they won’t be such a burden when we get back from our trip.

Only 54 days until vacation!!!!! Yipppeeee!! (Can you tell I am excited?)

Passport Mailed…

I had to check to see when my passport expired since we are planning to travel in May.  It is expiring on May 10, 2008.  So I got my pictures taken, filled out the application, wrote a check out, put everything in a padded envelope, took it to the post office and mailed it.  I need it before April 30.

Any guesses as to when I will get my passport?
