Sigh…

Not good. Took Mia to the doctor yesterday and she still has her ear infections. The good thing is that the left ear looks like it is healing but the bad news is the right ear is worse. So another round of antibotics with some finger’s crossed tossed in and hope that when we go on March 31, Mia’s ears will be clear.

Also not good, Diego failed his vision exam at school. So we got a referral to a pediatic eye doctor. And the appointment also happens to be on March 31.

Less than three months and Diego will be out of school. Just counting the days. 😉

It’s Only March…

So, it was pink eye. The doctor checked Diego’s lungs and ears which were fine. Just the pink eye. He thinks what ever Mia has, Diego has but instead of ear infections, he gets pink eye. He got eye drops which he has been taking them just fine. I am so glad my kids do not fight meds. If they did, we would in major trouble.

So, back to my title: It’s only March and we’ve taken Diego to the doctor twice (strep throat and pink eye). Mia has gone twice and will be going a third time next week for her ear follow up and her shots (I hope). Eric has gone to the doctor once and that was just for a physical. FIVE doctor visits and it is only the first week of March. I haven’t gone but I have been thinking about since this cold is just going and going forever.

Will spring relieve us from our illnesses? I sure hope so. *keeping my fingers crossed*

Sledding…

Finally!! Diego has been asking to go sledding for quite a while now. Last time it snowed, we weren’t even here. But it has been snowing since this morning so there was about 6 inches to take advantage of.

Plus it was Mia’s first time in the snow so that was fun. She had a good time. Caught her putting her hand/mitten in the snow while I was pulling her. She is using Diego’s little sled while he had the new big boy sled. His sled turned over a few times in the snow but Diego did not mind. He was just having lots of fun. I think we all did. 🙂

It was dark so not many pictures were taken.

I got to pull Mia. And Eric had the honor to spill Diego every few minutes. 😆
Sledding!!!

Mia’s 1st time sledding. She had a big grin the whole time she was on the sled.
Girl's 1st Time Sledding

Bad picture but keeping it anyway. Love the way there is a snowflake on Diego’s nose.
Boy and Papa

We might go out tomorrow if the snow is still nice. I know Diego wants to go again.

Stomach Flu…

No fun. It is horrible. I don’t even wish this on my worst enemy. Ok, maybe. 😉

Diego started on Thursday night and Friday. He work up with a fever so no school for him. Mia got it on Saturday night. She got fever as well. Thank goodness it was quick and over for both of them.

Then on Sunday afternoon, I started. OMG. I never, ever want to go thru this again. EVER. Few hours later, Eric started. We just kept taking turns in the bathroom. It think it was over about 4 am Monday morning. No fever for me but Eric did have one. I think I need to start buying stock in Tylenol. =P Needless to say, but no work for me on Monday.

Eric took Diego to school. I went back to sleep. Slept 4 hours. It was beautiful man. Eric slept too but no as long as me. My back and throat hurts. I feel like I ran but without the running.

I am back at work. I am not 100% but no more rushing to the toilet. I need to eat but a little bit leary in doing so. I hope I survive today. *sigh*

Lollapalooza 2009…

Here we come! August 7-9, 2009

Eric was able to snatch pre-sale tickets yesterday. Woohoo!!! We have never been so this is exciting. Number one reason we are going: Depeche Mode!!! Love, love, love them. Another thing that I love about Lollapalooza is that kids under 10 are free. So that means that Diego and Mia will be going at least one day.

Little things like that make me happy. Yay!!!

Festival of Lights ’07…

It is beginning to look like Christmas…

It was a cold and blustery night. It was slightly drizzling. But that not keep us away from attending the annual Festival of Lights parade. It was us three, Maggie and her boyfriend Eddie. We were all huddling to we can keep warm.

We were at the end of the route. I *heart* that area because 1) there isn’t that many people, 2) we are right in front of the fireworks and 3) we a few blocks away from the parking garage which makes a quick getaway.

The bad thing about being at the end is we have to wait a good 45 minutes before the parade gets there. But we still have fun waiting.. Eddie was not properly dressed which I had told Maggie to dress warmly. Men!

Finally we saw the parade cross the Michigan Ave. bridge and a few minutes we saw Mickey. How exciting!!! Diego was waving to anyone. He really enjoyed it. Besides Mickey, we saw Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale. There was helium snowflakes and ornaments. There were a couple of bands (one of them was UIC‘s). And there was even Corbin Blue from High School Musical was there (haven’t seen these movies yet but you should have seen the teeny boppers and their moms screaming at him).

The parade hadn’t even finished when the fireworks went off. They had some really cool fireworks these year. Finally Santa came by. Diego waved and waved. Got to love it! The fireworks finished and it was time to get out of the cold and back home.

Only 7 more days until our Disney Vacation. 🙂

Elkhart, IN…

It was fun. My brother and his family moved there last year. This was our first outing to his new house. It was a blast. My parents, my other brother and his kid and my aunt and her family also went. It is a two hour drive from Chicago. It is a nice drive.

My brother had told me to bring a bathing suit but did not mention that they had a pool. Very nice!
The Pool

Diego was prepared. I had gotten Diego some swimming trunks and swimming diapers. He looked really cute.
My little Swimmer

Diego also enjoyed his time on the trampoline. He loved jumping on the trampoline
And he loved running on the trampoline, too.

The food was yummy! Grilled skirt steak, hot dogs, salads, roasted corn, cookies and cake.

We had to bail out early. Diego did not and would not take a nap. The minute the car was started, Diego knocked out. We thought he was going to sleep thru the drive but no luck. After an hour, he was awake. We got home sometime after 7 PM. He did not go back to sleep until 8:45 PM. Now it is my turn.

Night, night!
