…my baby was born! I can’t believe he is 18 months old, one and half year old, 549 day old, 78 weeks old, 47,433,600 seconds and counting, well, you get the point.

Diego is getting so big. I don’t have his measurements but he reaches my waist already. And he is heavy! He is changing so much. He is no longer my baby. =( He is a full blown toddler. *sigh*

He said “zapatoes” this morning for the first time. He had already been saying “shoes” for a while so it was nice to hear him say a spanish word to the list. As of today, he is saying the following: mama, papa, cheese, shoe, blue, apple, Nala, bye, banana, truck, and others I can’t remember right now. He is very “vocal,” which means he “talks” you in Chinese most of the time. 😀

He will be going to the ped next week so I will have better stats by then.

Here is my baby!

Disney Here We Come…

Well it seems that we are going to Disney World in November 2007. I am so happy!! It will be the week right after Thanksgiving. We are driving so we will save the airfare. So it is time to start checking for packages. We want to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Wish us luck!!!

Haircut #3…

Diego got his hair cut today.   It is haircut number 3.  It was done at KidSnips by Sheri. She asked us if this was Diego’s first haircut. “No,” we said, “it is his 3rd.” Poor kid really needed it cut. She was great. Diego is a pro at this. No cry, no screaming, no nothing. Watched a Seasame Street DVD that was on. The cool thing was, the little boy who was before him, Kade, is in Little Gym with Diego. Eric recognized him and we said hello/bye as they were leaving. Small world!

Jury Duty…

I did my civil duty today by going to jury duty.  I had gotten a letter a few weeks ago telling me I was a STANDBY JUROR and to call the day before to see if I was required to attend.  So last night, I remembered to call.  Sure enough, I was summoned.

The only problem I had with this was the fact that I had to go to Markham, IL which is a little out of my way. I had to take I90/94, then I94, and then I57. It was a 45 mile roundtrip commute. Oh, well! The good thing was there was almost no traffic on the way there or back.

I arrived at 8:55 am. I signed in and went to the quiet room. President Ford’s funeral was on TV. I read today’s Chicago Tribune paper. First the Tempo section, Metro section second, then the front page. Then I put my new iPod Shuffle and read my People magazine. After doing the Puzzler, I did some Sudoku. By then, it was almost 11:30 am. Then they called us to get our juror paycheck. Sat down and continued with my puzzle. By noon, they annouced that all court cases were done for the day and we can leave for the day. clap

So, for three hours of my time, I got paid a whopping $17.20. I have done my quote for the year and do not have to do this for at least a year. Back to work tomorrow!

No Diego today; Girl’s Day Out…

Yep, that is correct: no Diego from 10:45 am to 5:45 pm.  Eric took care of Diego all day! Now that is a reason why I love this man.

Two of Eric’s Milwaukee cousins came to Chicago today.  They brought two out-of-town cousins (they are from Plano, TX) and two friends.  So it was totally girl’s day out on the town.

We went to the Millennium Park. We did a little window shopping on the Michigan Ave. Then we hopped on the free trolley to Navy Pier. When we got there, we were tired from the walking so we rested for a bit. During this time, we had some Starbucks (thanks Maggie!). Then the fun really started.

We went to the Build-A-Bear store. One of the girls bought a Hello Kitty for her daughter. It was really cute. Got her a couple of outfits with matching footware. I bought a Bears Uniform for Diego’s bear, Cubby.

So then we took the trolley to Water Tower Place. We went Victoria Secret’s first. Then we went to Foodlife. It is a really cool restaurant that has 13 food stations: Mexican, Chinese, American, Italian, etc. Have to shout out to Laura who treated me to dinner, THANKS!

By then, we were tired and full so I called Eric to pick us up and take us home. The Milwaukee Crew’s ride had showed up and then they went home. I had a great time but in the end, I was just happy to see Diego. I missed him so much!

I heart my iPod Shuffle…

Due to a nice gift from the IL’s, I was able to get what I wanted for Christmas early.  I can’t wait to start running with my cool iPod Shuffle.  It is so small.  It only fits 240 songs but what more can I ask for since I only run less that 30 minutes at a time right now. =D  My coworker gave me a set of silcone skins for it so it now has five different outfits. =)

One year ago today…

It was my cousin’s quinceanera (sweet 15th party) in Mexico. It was a blast. Diego was only 5 months old!! 😯 Now, Diego is 17 months old, my brother has bought a house & my other brother moved to Indiana. Twelve months has passed and so many things have happened since then. I wonder what we will be doing one year from now?
