I haven’t posted anything for a while since nothing new has come up. I am still itchy and scratchy. My scalp is so dry it is not even funny. I could probably not wash my head for a week and no one would notice. My face, neck and hands are flaking/peeling. Lotion helps for a bit but it doesn’t really help in the long term. The only way I can describe how I feel is when you get a really bad sunburn and then it starts healing your skin feels like it is tightening up. Well, that is how I feel. At least it is bearable now. 🙂

Eczema…
So I when to see a dermatologist today and that is what I was diagnosed with. The lady checked me out and after talking to me about my history (foods I’ve eaten lately, dry skin history, etc), she wrote it down in big capital letters and underlined it. 🙂
So, I have to avoid citrus, tomatoes, caffeine, sugar, white flour and milk. Need to soak in Dead Sea Salt baths for 15-20 min daily. She suggest to take Flaxseed Oil Capsules (1000 mg) 3 times a day during winter and to take acidophilus capsules once a day during breakfast. She gave me three (!!!) prescriptions: Zyrtec, lac-hydrin cream, and some other ointment. I also have to get some blood work done so there isn’t anything else going on.
Goodness, when I had my gallbladder issues, the list wasn’t this extensive. 😀
I already have the salts, I just need to get the prescriptions filled. All my coworkers are relieved I am not contagious.
Passport Update…
The government cashed my check yesterday. It posted in my account today. So it has been 8 days since I have mailed my application in. Hopefully, I will see my new passport soon. 🙂
Rash, Rash, Rash…
I’ve had a rash since yesterday. And I have no idea what it is. It started on my neck. And now it is on my chest, upper back, neck, shoulder, face, and my left ear. I have no symptoms what so ever: no fever, no sores in my mouth, no cough, nothing. It doesn’t really itch but I want to scratch so I think it is just mental. I am going to get some Benedryl to apply and hope it goes away soon. I hope it doesn’t lead up to anything.
Passport Mailed…
I had to check to see when my passport expired since we are planning to travel in May. It is expiring on May 10, 2008. So I got my pictures taken, filled out the application, wrote a check out, put everything in a padded envelope, took it to the post office and mailed it. I need it before April 30.
Any guesses as to when I will get my passport?
Ran Today…
Gosh, I don’t even remember when the last time I ran was. I think it was Oct. 20, my half marathon. So I had all my stuff here at work and went down to the gym. Ran 2 miles in 22 minutes. With my 5 minute cool down, it was a total of 2.28 miles. I really need to start running again because those were the two hardest miles I have ran in a long time. 🙂
Snowy Sunday…
It snowed about 5-8 inches overnight. We probably got about 6 inches. It is so pretty. I woke up to this this morning and the snow was just tapering off. It was cloudy but the weatherman said it was going to be sunny later in the day.
Our little balcony table looked like it had an ice cream cake on it:

You see the guys shoveling the snow:

Then I checked out the front. We have no side walks!

So later in the day, the sun did come out. The weatherman was right, who would’ve thought that! 😛
So we decided to go around the neighborhood with Diego in his sled.

We saw a snowman sunning himself:

We found a tiny hill (well, it is not really a hill, but it had a nice slope to it) and Diego went sledding on it:
Just about ready to come down:

Saw this pretty snow covered tree:

And it was time to go back home:

It was a great time. Who knows if we will get another snow fall like this one this season so we had to go out and enjoy it.
Happy Gobble Day…
Well, it is over. The food was prepared, cooked and eaten.
Things I am thankful for everyday:
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!
Belated Thank You’s…
Confession: I just mailed out Diego’s thank you cards today. His birthday parties were almost 3 months ago. *blush*
I have lots of valid excuses (pictures were taken late, training for 1/2 marathon, gallbladder problems) but I am so glad I have finished them. Okay, I only have four more to go but I ran out of thank you cards. I will finish them tonight. Yay!
No Restrictions…
That is what my surgeon said to me at my post-op appointment this morning. I am so happy this is over. I can go back to my normal routine. =) And now really looking forward my vacation in a few weeks.
He did ask me about my arm (it is still sore at the joint but only when I fully extend it). He is not too worried. He asked me about my tongue’s numbness (there is still a spot where I feel tingly). He said it is caused by the tubes they inserted down my throat. I kinda figured that since it feels like a hot coffee burn. It doesn’t bother me as much but I truly hope it goes away soon. He did say to call him if anything comes up. I have his number. =)
I apparently I was the second patient to have NOTES (Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery) done at Northwestern Memorial Hospital . They are currently looking for their third patient. It is an awesome feeling to know that you are helping the medical world to advance. Yay me! =P
