After two back to back losses, they finally win. The score: 11-5. Not bad. They seem to play better today. A little bit aggressive but they were having fun. Lots of nail bitting and “what the %^$@?” moments but they came thru. Hope this is the beginning of something.
On the other hand, I wanted to run three miles while they were playing. I took the jogging stroller and was dressed to run but Diego did not want to do anything with it. He just wanted to watch the game and play ball. And that is what we did. 😛
They lost. 8-6. Not going so well this season. They are 2-2 right now. I am not worried thought, they still have 4 more games to go. They need to liven things up. Not sure what is going on with them this year. They seem to have lost a lot of steam.
Hope the coach can pump them up soon.
*sigh* They lost. Oh so many excuses: the field was nasty (it really was), it was cold (it was around 56 degrees), blah, blah. The team just did not look like they had it in them today. The final score: 11-2.
Although there was good news: Eric finally was able to play. His right wrist has been hurting for the past couple of months. We think is was carpal tunnel syndrome. But he got a brace for it and he had been nursing it for a while. He put himself later in the game. He did have a base hit so that is good news. 🙂
Hope next week will be a better one.
Another win by the Beavers! The score: 8-3. Yay! It is always great when they win.
This is the Chicago Advertising Co-Ed Softball League. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been updated in over a year. Hope the new folks running the league this year will update it soon.
Softball season has finally begun. Eric is the coach for this co-ed softball team. They play on Tuesday nights. This is his 4th year. He wanted to retire last year but his team really likes him so he didn’t.
They played their first game today. They were down initially but they were able to get out of the hole and won, 10-8.
I went home and picked Diego up so we can go watch the team play. Diego had a grand old time as always. He was filthy by the time the game was over. The dirt on the field was all over him. His hair felt like he had a can of hairspray in there. Not giving him a bath tonight but definitely tomorrow morning.
Overall, it was a great first afternoon of softball.
Grrrr!! So the Cubs lost today (and yesterday and probably tomorrow) but that is not going to make me stop being a Cubs fan, ever. I hate when people say what losers they are and it is just a horrible thing to be a Cubs fan. But isn’t that what a fan is? You take the best and the worst of the team you root for. No matter what you just don’t jump to another team because that team have a winning record. I know lots of people like this and it annoys me to no end. I don’t mind if people talk smack, that’s part of the game (I give it too) but DO NOT tell me that I am a loser too because I am a Cub fan.
Cubs 4 Ever!
Boo hoo! It was a sweet run but it has ended.
The Bears started the game with an excellent quarter. They were so there. But for the rest of the game, who knows where they were hiding. I was so dissapointed in the defense and the offense. But there is always next year. And we will be supporting them like always. GO BEARS!
They are going to the Super Bowl!!! This is exciting. They totally kicked the Saints butt. Final Score: 39 to 14.
Colts, see ya in Miami!!!
Friday – It has been a long time since I had gone out and partied. We went out for the end of the year softball party. I had a little bit to drink, danced, and had adult conversation (well, if you consider yelling a “conversation”). Then we went to eat at a 24 hour diner. We then went to Becky’s birthday party for a little while. We left at 1:40 am. We were in bed by 2 am.
Saturday – Got up at 7:00. Diego was my alarm clock. 🙂 I had to get Diego ready to go to My Little Gym. Eric and Diego had breakfast, I had none. Then we left. Diego and Eric went to the gym and I went to catch the bus. It was a beautiful day to go running. The race started at 9:55. There were lots of people there so the beginning of the race of a little bit crowded. But once everyone spaced out it was fine. I ran the whole thing. My time was 37:18. I was very surprised because I thought my time was going to be over 40 minutes. I saw Diego and Eric waiting for me at the finish line. That made me very happy.
Sunday – We basically just hung out at home. Saw the Bears beat the Lions 34 – 7. Go Bears!!
