Vacation Itch…

We are trying to get a vacation in before the baby gets here. I spoke to the nurse as to when is the latest I can travel and she said the doctor usually recommends stopping at 34 weeks. That is cool because that gives me 8 more weeks. I think we may go right after Labor Day because all the kids would be in school and it will probably be cheaper.

Eric wants to do something with a beach-y so I suggested a Disney Cruise. I don’t think it will happen but I had to try. I have gotten ideas from San Diego to San Padre Island. I think he is going to pick some where in Mexico just because it will be cheaper. He is going to plan it so I’ll let him decide. I know he won’t disappoint me.

Oh and it would be Diego’s first airplane ride and beach anything. I hope we can do this. It would be so much fun!

25 Weeks…

I gained 2 1/2 pounds since my last appointment (5 weeks ago), so now I am at 157 1/2.  BP is normal.  Heard the baby’s heartbeat, it is in the 140 range.  Baby is about 1 1/2 lbs and well on its way to be 7 1/2 pounder. Doc is feeling confident of me doing a VBAC.  So far so good.

We took Diego with us this time.  The doctor had him help by measuring my belly (24 cm) and helped finding the heartbeat with the microphone.  It was really cute.  It was the first time I have take Diego to the OB since he was 6 weeks old (I think).  He was very, very good.

I also did the glucose test. It was the flat orange drink. Hope I pass. My next appointment is in 4 weeks. I also get another U/S at 34 weeks.

3 Year Stats…

Diego went to the doctor today. He did really good. He didn’t need any shots, not until next year. He had his blood pressure taken for the first time. It was like 90/55 or something like that. His weight is 32 1/2 lbs (60-70%) and he is 40″ tall (90%). He did get a finger prick to check his iron levels. His iron is a bit low but she recommended Flintstone vitamins with iron and cereal fortified with iron.

So his next visit is in one year and he will have to go back to get a flu shot later this year. He is growing quite well. =)

Happy 3rd Birthday…

To my little man, Diego, who at 12:54 am made his grand appearance in this world. I can’t believe how three years have gone by so quickly. I will never forget the “angel kisses” on your nose and the spit bubbles that had formed on your lips when I first saw you. The way you looked at us wondering who the heck we were. It has been an interesting ride and it’s a ride I don’t want to get off. I hope this day will be a good one for you.

Hugs and Kisses, Mama

Interesting…

When I found out I was pregnant, we would ask Diego what he wanted to have: a baby brother or a baby sister? He would always respond baby sister. Now, he has started to refer to the baby as “she” never “he.” Interesting, no?

I guess we will have to wait roughly 17 weeks 4 days to see if he is right. 🙂

Just for the record, we are not wishing for one or the other at all. I don’t even have a hunch as to what I am having. Just an interesting observation.

Obama Sighting…

We went for a walk to the recreational park across the street. There is soccer camp on Tuesday nights. As we were crossing the street, Eric noticed news cameras outside the fields. He said “I wonder what the paparazzi is for?” Low and behold, Barack Obama was there! I guess his oldest girl plays and they had a game going. He was there with his wife too. There were some people going up to him and getting pictures but mostly he was left alone so he can watch his kid play. There was the secret service but not anything crazy. It was cool though.

To The Movies…

We decided to take Diego to see Kung Fu Panda. His second movie at the theater. He did really well. Only problem was he kept asking (loud) questions during the movie. I also noticed that he would lose interest in the movie when Po (the panda hero) wasn’t on. Once he showed up, Diego was happy as a clam. He did request to go to the bathroom once which Eric took him but he didn’t go.

The movie was funny. There was a sequence with Po and his master which dealt with dumplings and chopsticks. Hilarious!!

Over all, he did well and will take him to the movies again.

20 Weeks…

I am at the half way mark. Crazy! I had my 20 week ultrasound. Everything looks great. The tech couldn’t complete her list of things to look for because the baby just kept moving around. Plus, it is currently breech so she had a harder time looking below the waist. Good thing we do not want to know what we are having or else it would have driven us nuts.

I have gain 4 pounds since last appointment. My BP was 99/65. Everything is progressing as it should. Next appointment is July 25. I think I will have the gestation diabetis test and another ultrasound.
