Lost the CDing Love…

It only lasted three months.

I just did not have the support to continue doing cloth diapers at night. Eric bought a bag of Huggies Overnights and it just went downhill from there. I started to make any excuse so I could use the disposables instead.

So I am selling of my six Fuzzi Bunz diapers. I already sold two so it makes me hopeful that I will sell the other four soon.

Adios! Thanks for the wonderful 3 months. Until next time, perhaps?

Softball Continues…

I know I haven’t update anything but there really hasn’t been much playing for the last few weeks.  Lots of rain postponed a few games, one make up game was forfeit by the other team and more rain happened.

Finally, the playoffs started.  Should have happened last Tuesday (postponed due to rain).  Should have been done on Saturday (again, postponed due to rain).  So here we are Tuesday night.  Traffic was horrible.  Took me 45 minutes to get up to Waveland Park.  There is a Cubs game (go Cubs!) tonight so that just messes everybody up.

We get there.  I only see three guys and one girl from our team warming up.  It is already 6:35.  The game start at 6:30.  So the guys are frantically calling the other guys and gals to see were they were.  They were stuck in traffic.  The minutes are ticking by.  Of course, the Beavers don’t want to concede.  Finally, at 7 the rest of the team show up.

And now we have a new problem:  we are short a girl.  Guess who they ask to play: me!  I was not prepared at all.  I am wearing my capri pants, sandals and a tank top.  No sports bra and no cleats.  But I played anyway.  I took off my sandals, grabbed a glove and played catcher.  I went up three times.  I popped up twice and was walked once.  Somebody pinched run for me.  She scored!!!  At least I did something right.

The problem with not wearing shoes:  I was stepped on twice by people wearing cleats.  Granted they were plastic but it still caused pain.  Just sucked it up.

The game was intense.  They were tied 11 by the end of the sixth.  By then, it was 8 and dark.  So they stopped playing and vowed to finish the last inning some other time.  Not everyone was happy with that decision but majority rules.  Let’s hope the outcome is in our favor.  Go Beavers!!!!

New Grill…

Eric went to Home Depot last night to go grill shopping. And did he ever shop.

He got us a Weber Genesis E-320 in green. He put it together this afternoon. It is now sitting on top of our roof deck enrobed with a brand new fancy Weber grill cover. I am so giddy! It is a beauty. All we need now is a new propane tank and we will break it in.

Hopefully we will be ready to grill tomorrow!

On the Comeback Trail…

After three weeks of not running, I finally went.  Ran 2 miles in under 20 minutes.  It really felt good!  I just have to remember to ease back into this.  I am just worried that I will be sidelined even more if I have to have surgery.  I guess I will worry about that when I come to that bridge.

I can’t wait to go again tomorrow!

Diego’s 2nd Birthday Bash…

Happy Family!

This was a blast. We had the family party at the LaBaugh Woods on July 29, 2007. It was the bomb! It started at Noon and ended roughly at 8 PM. Well, that is when the honoree went home. Diego was pooped. No nap at all for him, which amazed us. He did have one moment of weakness and that was went he threw up. But there was no ill affect afterwards and he continued living in the moment. We had two cakes and one of them was gone in record time.

It was a blast. Check out the slide show here or you can see the pictures thru here: Diego’s 2nd Birthday Bash.

My ER Story…

Around 11 pm last night, I got this unbearable pain in my upper abdomen. It hurt so much that I asked Eric to take me to the ER.

I was still dressed so Eric helped me get downstairs, found my shoes and into the garage. Eric asked me to lie down in the back seat. He flew to the hospital, Northwestern Memorial. I remember most of the ride there. I kept telling Eric to slow down and to not go through red lights, which he did a couple of times.

We got there at 11:20 PM. The pain was unbearable that it made me cry a couple of times. I remembered everything the registration lady asked me. So we waited and waited. Sure enough my pain started to go away right around midnight. I thought about going home but I was already there and I just wanted for someone to tell me why I had all this pain. A few minutes later, the pain returned but not as intense. So finally, a nurse called my name.

I was diagnosed with a severe UTI but they were still confused as to why I had pain in the front. They decided to keep in the observation ER area. While I was waiting for a room, they pumped full of rapid infusion antibiotics. Once I got moved to my room, we finally got some sleep. But at 7 am, I was wheeled to get an ultrasound for my gall bladder and liver.

They found gallstones. But my gallbladder is healthy looking so they were not too concerned about doing anything to it right away. They referred me to a surgical consult (that I still have to make). I guess I will be saying goodbye to my gall bladder soon.

I was discharged at 2:30 today.

I feel so much better now but every time I sense something in my tummy area, I kinda freak that it will be the pains. They were much worse than labor pains let me tell ya. I have to modify my diet a bit: low fat, nothing fried, fatty foods, no cheese, no cream of anything, etc. That is okay. Not too bad except the cheese. I love cheese. But I don’t want a re-occurrence of this pain so it is not too hard to do.

Little Gym Party…

DSC06034

Well, we finally had Diego’s Little Gym party. It was so much fun!!! The party started at 10:30 am, so we packed up the wagon with the goody bags, the cake and the kiddo. 🙂

We had 9 kids plus Diego. Everyone that RSVP’d came. That made us very happy! They had the run of the gym for about 20 minutes and then they did some activities (parachute, air bouncy thing, bubbles, balls). Then once again the kids (and adults) had free gym. They left the air thing until it was time for cake. Diego was very sad when they put it away. He loved it!

We sung Happy Birthday and Diego blew out the candles. Plus he did not do the blowing with the spitting so everyone had a clean piece of cake. 🙂

After having cake and juice, the party was over. But our college friends went over to our house to continue with the after party. We opened presents and Diego loved everything he got.

Once that was done, we had a small BBQ. We had grilled cheeseburgers and hot dogs. Then we went upstairs to the roof and hung out up there. We also brought out the kiddie pool.

Everyone left at 3ish. It seemed that everybody had a great time. I love having parties. Lots of work but at the end, I was a happy camper.

Now, time to get in gear for the next party. 😯

Happy Birthday…

I can’t believe Diego is two already.  I see a wonderful little boy who is growing up very quickly.  He is starting to express himself, knows how to count to 5 (sometimes even to 10!) and just knows how to get his cute self get out of trouble.

Happy Birthday Diego!  I love you forever!  From Mama

Day At The Races…

Happy 4th of July!! What better way to celebrate by going to see some horse races.

Eric had a great idea this morning. We had no idea what to do before going to a BBQ. He suggested going to Arlington Park. So we quickly got ready and left a bit after 12 PM. The first race started at 1 PM. Got there in the nick of time.

When we got there, we thought it was going to rain. There was hardly any sun. There were these really angry looking clouds moving across the sky. The good thing thought was even thought it was hot, no sun to add to the misery. The sun did come out right after the third race though. But it was fine since we were planning to leave right after the four race.

We saw 4 races. The last one was the best one because they were practicing right in front of us and Diego got see the horses.

Not a Mint Julep

While we were waiting for the races to start, there were activities for the kids. They had pony rides and face painting which Diego participated in both.

On the way home, he just knocked out.
So Tired

It was a good way of ending the day at the races.
